Financial Aid Programs

You no longer need to worry to pay your university fees. UNC has arranged for various financial aid programs to meet your various university requirements. No doubt applying for an admission to get a good college degree, career and job requires a lot of money. To overcome this problem university of North Carolina has arranged for various financial aid programs for all the students who are elligible for admissions. We provide support to students who are unable to apply due to their poor economic conditions.

If you would like to apply for financial Aid programs from the University all you have to do is fill in the free federal student aid form.

Eligibility Criteria required for financial aid

• You need to be enrolled as at least a half time student in a degree or recognized certificate program.
• You need to have a satisfactory performance at the end of a academic year.
• You need to be a U.S Citizen or have a permanent resident.
• You must not owe any refund on a scholarship, grant or loan from a previous enrollment period.
• You should not be in default on a loan previously received for college expenses.
• Your family income should not exceed 20% of the federal poverty standard in order to be eligible for federal student financial aid.

Carolina's Scholarships and financial Aid programs
The main purpose of our Scholarship and financial Aid programs is to recruit exceptionally talented students. We want to ensure that a Carolina education is accessible and affordable by all. We offer number of financial assistance to our students which includes

1) Grants: We offer different types of grants to our students which do not have to be repaid. Grants offered by us includes:

• Federal Pell Grants
• Transportation Grant
• Smith Research Grants
• UNC minority presence grants
• North Carolina Native American Incentive Grants
• North Carolina Incentive Grants
• UNC Need Based Grants

2) Loans:

• UNC offers alternative loans for students known as Extra loan.
• Key Bank offers the Key Alternative loan for both graduates and undergraduates.
• Federal Plus loan (Parents loan for Undergraduate Students)
• Federal Perkins loans
• Federal Subsidized Stafford Loans

3) Job: We also make arrangements for part time jobs for students. We also have Federal Work study program that provides money to all the needy students. All the eligible students who work for this program are paid once a month.
